What you can expect
The primary aim of a sports massage treatment with Peak Performance is to make you feel better with minimum disruption. To ensure I can provide the best treatment, the session will always include a conversation about your current condition and what you hope to get from the massage. From this we will agree upon a suitable massage plan and what you can expect from the treatment. Once you are completely happy then the treatment will start.
Although some aspects of the massage can be uncomfortable and lead to soreness and occasional bruising, your comfort will remain my priority. As massage is a hands-on treatment, some degree of undress is required. Towels are used for your comfort and dignity throughout. Ladies may be asked to remove their bra for back treatments, however I do insist that everyone wears shorts or underwear on the lower body at all times.
A variety of techniques are used dependent on your requirements and desired outcome, whether that be a routine maintenance massage to keep the muscles relaxed and flexible, a rehabilitation session to reduce soreness and aid recovery from niggling injuries, or a massage to help you be in top condition before your big race or match.
I can help treat specific conditions such as tennis or golfers elbow, plantar fasciitis or more general issues such as muscular and tendon tightness, or back and shoulder pain.
Finally, where I feel it is appropriate I may demonstrate a series of stretches or exercises to aid your recovery. I will also advise whether more sessions are required for optimal recovery, although this is only a recommendation and it is entirely up to you if you decide to book further appointments.
I am fully insured for all treatments offered.
